Can you ask your boss if I just pay him some cash outside the SPA (lower SPA price)?
This is a common question if you are in sub-sale. However, I do get this kind of question even with project sale. Why? Some people just have extra cash…big sum.
There is no right or wrong answer to this request. Our part is to facilitate a sale, that is it. Nevertheless, there are things which you do NOT go and ask your Boss. Two reasons:
1. Your boss does NOT like that question.
2. Your boss might NOT have an answer for it as well.
Why?
For a Company, there are some rules and regulations to abide to – especially for those Berhad (listed) companies. Hence, some might contravene the rules and regulations, so the boss won’t like this kind of request.
It might need to go up to higher management for approval – putting such as an extraordinary issue. To give exception might trigger finger pointing later on. So, it isn’t something politically desirable.
Especially internal audit, there are questions that most people do NOT want. Hence, if needed to do, just whisper in the ears of the immediate Boss. Let him know. In most cases, there won’t be any response, so keep it to yourself.
